SAQ® International have recently been showcasing our theories, principles and equipment at several local events and award days.

SAQ®, the qualified leader in the fast growing field of movement training, have implemented their techniques and philosophies at schools in Leicestershire for a number of years.

A recent public demonstration of the SAQ® methods occurred on Saturday August 25th, when Harry White, a fully trained SAQ® Instructor, led a number of SAQ®-themed sessions as part of a special sporting showcase that took place during the inaugural City Festival held in Leicester.

Harry set up the SAQ® hurdles on Humberstone Gate in the city centre and took local children through a number of SAQ® Earl movement Drills.

August 28th SEM Award(Special Education Movement) Award at Leicester’s West Gate School

Then, on Wednesday August 28th, SAQ® held their latest SEM (Special Education Movem ent) Award at Leicester’s West Gate School, a special school for pupils aged from 4 to 19-years-old.

SAQ® Instructor Mandy Ricketts, who hosted the Award, is fully-trained to deliver the SAQ® program and is based at the school where she works within the Learning Enrichment Team. The pupils have extremely wide-ranging physical and learning disabilities, including autism, epilepsy and Down’s syndrome, but each child is assessed individually and given their own unique SAQ® program.

At the core of SAQ® training is a series of drills and specific exercises that develop the body’s core muscle groups and the neuro-muscular pathways that control athletic movement. These principles are adapted to each child and the school has seen some fantastic results.

SAQ® International, are making huge strides towards improving the health and early movement of children all over the world by using physical exercise to develop movement and co-ordination and to hone behaviour and academic output.

All of these theories are passed on during courses and awards run exclusively by the company, helping to ensure that future PE and sport coaches and teachers taking part are educated about the early essential movement patterns of children.

Managing Director, Alan Pearson, was on-hand to deliver the award and put participants through their paces, as they learned the SAQ® practices around the principles of movement and trialled the company’s revolutionaryAerofloor®training surface.

SAQ® International Managing Director, Alan Pearson, said: “The importance of physical activity and the development of essential movement patterns in the early years of children are crucial, not only for health but also for intellectual development and the building of a foundation for improved learning, increased confidence, better physical performance and overall success.
