SAQ® International has been offered a three-year deal by a leading Arabian Football Club to arrest a growing obesity crisis in their country.
SAQ® International have been asked to deliver its schools fitness programme throughout the United Arab Emirates following a successful trial with Sharjah FC.
They will work with the club, who are sponsoring the programme with gas company Danagas, to strengthen community links, and particularly schools, in order to develop more homegrown talent for the team in the long term.
SAQ® managing director Alan Pearson said, "The major Government agencies (in the UAE) like what we do. Our goal is to get a lot more of the local population to play premiership football for Sharjah and improve their health."
"We want to work closely with families as well so we're going to be targeting mums over there with a similar programme to the one we used here in Melton to encourage healthy eating and movement."
