Melton-based SAQ® International has provided training to staff and students at a school in Hertfordshire, as part of the company’s work with charity, Child UK.
Managing Director Alan Pearson personally delivered the Fundamental Movement Award at the start of the new term to pupils at Swallow Dell Primary School in Welwyn Garden City, who had previously identified the need to improve children’s fundamental movement.
Following the successful completion of the course, SAQ® delivered a training programme to the school as part of the new term’s inset training, the aim of which was to ensure that as many members of staff would complete the course fully-qualified in the SAQ® Fundamental Movement Award.
As a result, many members of staff are now qualified to deliver the SAQ® fundamental movement programme, so as to further integrate the programme within the school across all levels.
SAQ® International Manager Director, Alan Pearson, is delighted by the response that delivery of the training has received.“It’s wonderful that we are able to provide training to staff members at schools that can then be delivered to children from an early age. At SAQ®, we are constantly working and encouraging schools, nurseries, kids clubs and parents to use the programme.“I have been working very closely with our partners, Child UK – who are a fantastic charity, and they communicated to us that Swallow Dell Primary School were interested in having us work with their pupils to improve their fundamental movement.
“We wanted to ensure that not just one group of children benefitted, therefore SAQ® has now trained 18 members of the school’s staff, in addition to four members of the Child UK team, to ensure that these principles form part of the school’s physical education programme, which will benefit their pupils’ movement massively.”
