Course Overview

This course is intended to qualify you as a strength and conditioning coach. It is intended to help you gain the confidence and competence to condition and prepare players of all standards and all ages – male and female – in a safe and enjoyable manner for Tennis and Racquet Sport. In the years following our course we will expect that you and those with whom you work will notice a development in your coaching skills and methods as you will become more competent and confident in this important area of team preparation. Also, through contact with other coaches via our Discussion Board you will build up a network of conditioning coaches that you can access after the course. This can become a valuable resource.

The tennis coaching course is all-embracing and will cover the important aspects such as the Components of Fitness, Principles of Training, Specific Stamina and Speed required for Tennis and Racquet Sport. It will also address the issue of Resistance and Strength Training, Nutrition and Fitness Testing protocols suitable for Tennis and Racquet Sport. Finally it examines the important topic of planning of the physical training to enhance the performance level of the players and team over the course of the season.

The course is intended to be more of a practical, hands-on course where you will study, see and go and practice the many drills and exercises that are appropriate for conditioning Tennis and Racquet Sport players.
