Course Overview

This course is intended to qualify you as a strength and conditioning coach. It is intended to help you gain the confidence and competence to condition and prepare fitness clients or prepare sports players and team of all standards and all ages – male and female – in a safe and enjoyable manner for personal training and/or sport in general.

In the years following our strength and conditioning course we will expect that you and those with whom you work will notice a development in your coaching skills and methods as you will become more competent and confident in this important area of personal development as well as of client, athlete or team sport preparation. Also, through contact with other fitness industry personnel via our Discussion Board you will build up a network of conditioning experts that you can access after the course. This can become a valuable resource.

 

 

The course is all-embracing and will cover the important aspects such as the Components of Fitness, Principles of Training, Specific Stamina and Speed required for your clients as individuals are as participants in a range of sports. It will also address the issue of Resistance and Strength Training, Nutrition and Fitness Testing protocols suitable for clients who have an interest in sports participation as well as for athletes and players involved in sport. Finally it examines the important topic of planning of the physical training to enhance the performance level of the clients, players and team over the course of a yearly season.

The course is intended to be more of a practical, hands-on course where you will study, see and go and practice the many drills and exercises that are appropriate for conditioning clients or individuals involved in sports.

In summary, participants who undertake this course will become qualified in strength and conditioning coaching by developing the practical skills, know-how and competences to implement a programme of strength and conditioning development for their clients, individual players or teams in a wide range of sports.

Upon successful completion of all 8 modules, you are awarded the SAQ® International Diploma in Strength and Conditioning for Personal Trainers and Fitness Industry Instructors.
