This module covers the definition of and practical approach to Fitness and Conditioning, the Components of Fitness and the Principles of Training and how they apply in sports coaching and fitness instruction.
This module examines Stamina Training for fitness and sport and the importance of a multi-sprint stamina and strength endurance approach to the whole concept of endurance development for field and court sports teams and clients.
This module covers the importance of speed and agility in for cleints from sports. It looks at the various methods that can be used to make players quicker off the mark and faster on the ball. The module is aimed at developing the Fitness Instrucor's ability to work with teams and inviduals.
Module 4 examines the whole area of Resistance and Strength Training. It delves into the improvement they can add to the sports clients’s fitness and play. It also uncovers how they can make players more reactive, quicker and faster moving for a range of field and court sports.
This module covers the rationale behind fitness testing. It demonstrates a wide range of capacity tests thast can be used with clients from the world of sport. It teaches the instructor how to evaluate and administer the most suitable tests for the facilities available if wroking with teams or individuals.
Module 6 covers all the content that the strength and conditioning coach will need to advise his/her cleinst (particulalry those who are sports participanst) on how to prepare for and recover from training and competitions in terms of their nutritional and hydration needs.
In the final module we look at how best to prepare and plan the yearly training and competition programme for clients from sport. We study various forms of periodisation methods and lead the instructor to implement the best practice in relation to his or her clients whether they are teams or individual sports performers.
