The Milokit® has been of great use to the Bristol Academy of Sport physiotherapy department in terms of enabling us to utilise what we call ”controlled-instability".
Certainly with ankle and knee rehabilitation we have been able to introduce sport-specific functional loading exercises at an earlier stage than we have been in the past. We are able to challenge the athlete in a functional way, with a level of instability that is appropriate for their stage of healing.
The use of the harness is particularly useful for knee rehabilitation, enabling the athlete to carry out a functional squat, but with reduced loading through the injured tissues.
Additionally, the use of the two straps rather than one has enabled us to use modified single leg squats to great effect. The Milokit® has certainly been a useful addition to our rehabilitation tool box!
